The Cape Pebble Scale measures a company's digital and AI maturity on five levels and four axes. The right temperature depends on your ambition, not on fashion. Understand the Scale
Twenty years in the trade
01
Twenty years of business systems and data
ERP, CRM, business intelligence, databases: scoping, solution choice, implementation, data migration, go-live. On the client side, at an integrator, then independently.
02
Tools that talk, figures that speak
Connecting two systems that ignore each other, migrating a history without loss, building business intelligence the management can trust. AI comes next: it does not work without clean data.
03
More than fifty projects
Over the years, from the Ritz Paris to SNCF, from MANE to Diptyque, and dozens of small businesses. I know what makes a project hold, and what makes it cost twice the quoted price.
04
And I still build
I design and run processing chains in production: unit costs, monitoring, compliance built in at design time.

The catalogue
Five families of solutions, thirty-three fixed-price packages.
Every solution comes with a one-page scoping note, a success indicator, training, documentation and the keys.
Your question is not on the list?
That is normal: the catalogue is proof, not a limit. Ask the question, we find the solution.
§ 03
The Cape Pebble Scale
Where are you, where should you be?
Five levels, from 1 · Latent (nothing has started) to 5 · Differentiating (technology is at the heart of the business model). Four axes: strategy, systems, skills, governance.
- LatentLevel 1
- EmergingLevel 2
- StructuredLevel 3
- IndustrialisedLevel 4
- DifferentiatingLevel 5
1 Latent · 2 Emerging · 3 Structured · 4 Industrialised · 5 Differentiating
No organised use. Or worse: hidden use of consumer tools with company data. Nobody owns the subject.
Things are simmering: individuals experiment, a few personal gains, no measurement, no framework, no priorities.
One or two framed use cases, partial results, a named lead, accessible data, but projects that stay at pilot stage.
Several solutions measured (KPIs, unit cost), governance in place (register, policy), skills spread across the teams, costs tracked.
Technology is at the heart of the offer or the operating model: industrialised, sovereign where it matters, steered by the executive committee with financial indicators.
§ 04
Track record
Proof, not promises.
Costed worked examples, drawn from situations we come across often. They are illustrative scenarios about fictional companies, always presented as such.
§ 05
The Cape Pebble commitments
Written, public, and binding.
01
Price stated before we start
Written fixed prices, no day-rate billing in disguise. You know what you are paying before day one.
02
One figure before, one figure after
Every solution has an indicator agreed together and measured. No measurement, no assignment.
03
You keep the keys
Code, access, documentation and training are handed over to you. Cape Pebble must be able to disappear without anything stopping.
04
Complete independence
No licences resold, no commission from any software vendor, host or integrator. The advice has only one client: you.
05
The truth about profitability
If a solution does not pay for itself, the plan says so, and Cape Pebble does not propose it.
§ 06
Who you are talking to

Augustin Gallet. Twenty years in the trade, and still building.
I spent twenty years in business systems and data, from both sides of the table: in-house IT, project manager on an international rollout, consultant, then running my own firm, Cape Pebble, since 2014. More than fifty projects, from the Ritz Paris to SNCF. My ground: making tools talk to each other and making figures speak. I now add AI and automation to that trade, and I still build what I recommend. I talk process and P&L before technology. When a solution does not pay for itself, I say so.
§ 07
Frequently asked questions
What business leaders ask first.
01Where do I start if I don't know what I need?
With the Audit of what you have. In three weeks, you get a factual assessment of your processes, tools, data, infrastructure, costs and compliance, then a costed solutions plan. If you first want an idea in five minutes, the Cape Pebble Thermometer is free.
02Do you only do AI?
No. Our foundation is business systems and data. AI and automation are our spearhead because that is where the value is highest in 2026, but they do not work without clean data. And the right solution is often a properly configured ERP, a tested backup or a CRM connected to the accounts. We know when not to use AI.
03Our software tools do not talk to each other. Is that your job?
Yes, it is the heart of the trade. Connecting the ERP to the online shop or to the accounts, migrating years of history when you change software, building a dashboard whose figures match from one tool to the next: we have been doing this for twenty years. Connecting two tools and migrating data are fixed-price packages in the catalogue, with automatic checks on discrepancies.
04Why publish your prices?
Because a managing director should be able to decide without ten meetings. The ranges are public, the fixed price is written down before we start, and there is no disguised time-and-materials billing.
05Are you on your own?
Cape Pebble is the firm of Augustin Gallet, twenty years of business systems and data (ERP, CRM, business intelligence, databases), who carries out the assignments himself. For broad scopes (network, heavy development, hardware), he works with identified partners, under his responsibility. A collective of independent consultants with complementary expertise is being built.
06We already have an IT provider. Does this replace them?
No, it complements them. The managed service provider handles the day-to-day (workstations, troubleshooting). Cape Pebble audits, decides and implements the solutions that change how the business runs. We are glad to work with your provider.
